PowderWorks was formed as a standalone company in 2020, though it has a long-standing history with powder coating through its parent company Butterfield Signs.
Born from the relocation and expansion of an existing double-booth and box oven spray shop into what it is today, it holds over 97 years in coating and finishing knowledge, expertise and experience.
Investment into a suspended line allowed for additional capacity not just to cope with the group’s existing customer requirements, which centre around signage, but also offer our services to other companies in different sectors.
Implementing automation was just as important as creating extra capacity and our overall vision was for a state-of-the-art powder coating facility offering high quality finishing with a quick turnaround and warranty to suit.
An automated colour changing booth and reciprocator guns were incorporated as well as a one-step pre-treatment using the latest Plaforization technology aligning our green credentials.

117 metres of suspended line via specialist innovative hanging methods is able to deliver pre-treated, coated and cured product at a rate of up to 1.6 metres per minute.
10, 000 square foot of premises houses extensive pre-treatment plant inclusive of a dry off oven and a 17-metre-long powder curing oven reaching optimum temperatures between 200 - 240 degrees.
Automatic booth and colour changing technology combines with reciprocator guns and manual touch up platforms for precise process control and optimum efficiency.
Multi-metal compatibility of all the above allows for total flexibility across the line meaning there is no compromise over any aspect of our service offering.

An automatic booth with colour changing technology, recycling cyclone, reciprocator guns and manual touch up platforms to deliver high-quality finished products through increasing precision and control whilst also enhancing speed, efficiency and green-credentials.
A suspended line incorporating an industrial powder curing oven both of which are controllable for creating the perfect combination of speed and temperature to deliver pre-treated, coated and cured product at an impressive rate whilst maintaining flexibility.
In line with all the above, we carefully source all of our powders from reputable high-quality brands as well as our smart solution hanging, masking and handling equipment and systematically test and record all of our plant and product.
